Social Media: A Social Issue In Pakistan

Social issue has now become a  dilemma of our society. So far the list of social issues in Pakistan is long. Poverty, unemployment, economic crises and the list goes on. Do you know another social issue that is silently prevailing in our society but nobody has thought about it? That is the use of social media. I am compelled to write this blog after my experience of visiting different facebook pages and the interests of our new generation. For many it could be just a piece of information, but it's an alarming situation for those who have trust on the next generation. Today, I can feel that I am a part of a society that is distracting from the right path.
Let me put an example here.Have you ever seen the pages which are on the name of Prophets? Do check them you will be shocked that how marketing is being done by using the name of Prophets. Do you think that it is ethical when you see in your news feed that Hazrat Ali (AS) updated a status?

Alaaaas!!! I am worried what will be the future of this false tactic of advertising.. Many of you now have a question in your mind that what's bad in giving Islamic education through facebook. I totally agree that social media is a tool that can make information viral within seconds but what is more problematic is their authenticity. Everybody knows very well that social media is the most unreliable source of media. If you have a liberty of speech on such a huge platform counts, then reliability is another question. Who is going to monitor all the facts? How you will judge that the post being done is authentic or it's not an anti-islamic propaganda? Friends think on a very serious node. Things are not going on the right way.Furthermore, I need to emphasize on one more thing, the entertainment is good but once entertainment cross the limits of respect, it can lead to a failure and a downfall.

It's a very long debate which has no end but by scrutinizing it we should think of some solutions. The piece of information that I have shared with you is based on my experience. May be you have a different story but my story have some connection with the reality. Give it a thought!!!

Umeed

Ik dil hai jo pur umeed hai
Ik hosla hai jo buland hai
Ik josh ki lehr hai jo taiz ho rahi hai
Ik jaagti umang hai jo her so phail rahi hai
Qaum main tabdeeli jhalak rahi hai
Yaksaaniat ki khusboo umad rahi hai
Ik naya Pakistan a raha hai
Tabdeeli kai gun ga raha hai
Na tabqa hai na koi zaat
Yukja ho gae hain zulm kai khilaf
Rooh laraz si rahi hai
Tabdeeli a gae hai Tabdeeli a gae hai....

5 Misconceptions about Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing is a market of revolution. With the advance technology and more inclination of general public towards social media networks especially via smart phones, the marketers consider social media the best, easiest and cheapest way to reach their target audience. But with the expansion of social media in Pakistan, the idea of social media marketing is turning into a dilemma that its just the market of likes and shares.
There are various misconceptions which are prevailing without considering the pros and cons of such marketing. I have concluded following misconceptions with my experience so far.

1. Strategy of most of the social media experts is to get maximum likes on their post, blogs etc. while it's wrong.
2. Success is measured by quantity not quality for example twitter followers, likes on fan page etc etc.
3. Social media is facebook while its much more than just facebook.
4. Brand loyalty building is possible by having maximum followers and fans.
5. Social media marketing is like every other marketing medium.

It is essential to come out of these misconceptions and should review again what strategy will be a success for your company,  instead of  making your social media marketing just a market of quantity not quality.
