Blurred identity
My mind is besieged with different questions. I always think about culture and norms of our society. I don’t want to believe the bitter truth of our society but I have to believe that it is present. The limitations we are imposing on our norms and our values exist. The notion that we call our self a nation which is based on Islamic ideology is nothing but a fake statement to satisfy our internal. . Students in schools and college always read in the chapters of social studies about  Islamic ideology, Quaid-e-Azam  quotes, unity, equality etc etc…but all these lessons are restricted to books, not practically implemented.
And I will not say government should do this, government should make policy and everyone should   work together. No doubt we have to be united but the beginning should be from individual level. The caste system, racism it’s very common we can’t deny that they are absent. Today we are a part of such so called society where we have blurred identity.  And we individuals now have to explore and find out our identity in this nation. Today we have to define our identity which has vanished due to invasion of mixed cultures and we are unable to insulate our self from global culture….
 Think and take the initiative…

A square peg in a round hole

The life of a person circles around his/her norms and values and one has to live according to the standards set by a society. Another reality which exists in society of Pakistan is unobserved and unknown force which is prevailing in one’s life. We can’t call that force negative which leads one life towards disappointment but that is the peer group pressures which one has to face. These pressures are actually to make person’s life organized and to have a happy life without thinking about his/her wishes .A child born in a doctor’s family is fantasied to take up the same profession; even though it may not be his ideology.
Mostly a child’s feelings, interests and thinking are suppressed to such an extent that his own abilities are sabotaged. It doesn’t mean that they can’t do what they want but through peer pressures their minds are diverted. They are unable to define their goal and the shift is from their wishes to the parents. They set their goals according to wishes of their parents. They are not given a platform to negotiate. The core problem is lack of counseling. It’s just like a square peg which is not made for a round hole.  Forcefully their preoccupied minds just have to fit within the frame work of their parents thinking and desires. Apart from hurdles and difficulties, which their minds have to tolerate, they have to forgo their own aspirations. When an individual wants to retrace his steps, it’s too late.
In this so called, ‘Democratic Pakistani Society’ freedom of expression has to be applied directly. This taboo issue is now the talk of every coffee table but nobody wants to implement it. Awareness is needed on parental level. They should be educated on this social issue because life of such persons becomes depressing and they then create a pessimistic outlook about a society.
The exigency of hour is to highlight such issues in a progressive way. A strategy should be designed in such way which is interactive and is made according to the minds of people within their norms and value, so the message will be conveyed in a meaningful way.

A trip to Oasis golf club

On the 17th of April World Hemophilia day is celebrated worldwide. A trip to oasis golf club on that Day is most precious memory of mine. The reason why I went there with my team and the warriors of Hemophilia patient was that I have the honor to be part of the team who arranged an event on that day with my team. This day may be ordinary or even unknown for majority but that day is like celebrating Eid for hemophiliac patients. I can feel their happiness which was dominant on their faces. The departure of hemophiliac persons and their families with team of Chughtais Lahore Lab to Oasis golf club was an amazing experience of my life. The patients were very excited and wanted to reach there as soon as possible. Such happiness was obvious because a lot of those poor children never usually have chances for day outs or picnics.

The celebrations began with swimming, hemophiliac persons whether young or elders they actively took part in making this day memorable. The dances and Punjabi wraps performed by hemophiliac persons showed their concern and cheerfulness. They were so happy like they feel that they are out of this world. Such small happiness contributed a lot in making them feel that they are also the part of society who can enjoy all rights and equally contribute in serving their country. The journey ends with prize distribution among hemophiliac patient. I noticed the sense of gratification on their faces which also satisfied me and made me feel that it’s not just the smile which matters it’s also about how much people contribute for their betterment and happiness.
