And he chose half glass of water...A Struggle

Let me start with a typical story style. The style which I was taught in my 2nd grade. Once upon a time, a man was thirsty. He was searching desperately for water and in a constant struggle to find even a few drops of water, but couldn't find any.  Day by day his need was increasing and his struggle was getting harder and harder. One day the miracle happened and he was given two options. One was half glass of water and one was quarter filled. Just imagine you are at the place of that man. What would you choose? Obviously half glass of water, though his need was not fulfilled completely, but that was the better option for him. So he chose that option and started struggle again.

I hit upon by this idea when the Azadi March and Inqalaab March was resisted by shelling and firing of rubber bullets in Islamabad outside parliament house. However, it was an undemocratic move that shows barbarism on peaceful and innocent protesters. At this critical moment, I don't want to say that I am supporting PTI or PMLN. I would say just choose what is better. I believe anyone like the thirsty man will choose half glass of water despite of the fact that both are not full. The demand of PMLN resignation could be omitted, but it was not. Similarly, it was almost 17 days, but the government was paying no heed to the demands.

No clear mandate was given to protesters by government. Media reported deadlock among PTI and government negotiations. There was hype on social media. Twitter was trending with #GoNawazGo, #GoImranGo and many other similar trends. Some people were making baseless arguments and some were talking sense.

You know what, in the beginning I had some reservations over Azadi March, but in these last few days I get confused again. May be because of the following questions that were roaming in my mind.
  • Why containers were placed in Lahore and Islamabad?
  • Why there was a delay by government to file an FIR against the model town incident?
  • Why PTI march was blamed as unethical?
  • Why Nawaz Sharif  lied in the parliament?
  • Why Nawaz Sharif went to Raiwand, Lahore?
Now these all why's are making me thirsty as well. I am in a dire need of water. I was not offered full glass of water though, but I will choose a better option. Yes, I will choose the half glass of water, I will chose PTI. Don't forget that quarter glass of water need to be filled half first. You have to struggle after all. The choice is all yours!

Work Smarter, Not Harder- A New World Order

Our forefathers were lucky enough as they were living with a concept that hard work could lead to one's dream destination. Their life roamed around simplicity, passion, effort and finally they achieved what they wanted. That means you don't need to be skillful , you just needed to be hard working, even if it meant starting from scratch. Wasn't that great?

You know what, today this concept is getting a little vague. By saying this I am not taking my belief off from the fruits of hard work, but I am apprising you about a change that is gradually encompassing our life and demands us to adjust accordingly. You might not realize, but the working norms are changing over.

Wait a minute! I don't want you to work that hard, this can definitely drive you crazy!

Today is the trend of smart thinking, followed by progressive approach and a little farsightedness. The next question that might pique you is how you can perform smartly in order to fit in with this new world order? Don't worry, you can still think hard and figure out smart ways for yourself.

Though many times I have been told to work smarter, not harder. So here I am sharing some fast tips that I am practicing. You will find them helpful, especially at your workplace.

1. Make List of Don'ts

We usually make list of do's while working, but believe me list of don'ts can be even more fruitful. Figure out the distracting factors and say "NO" to them.

2. Prioritize Your Tasks

Don't feel burdened with a lot of tasks. You need to give quality time to top priority tasks and have to manage your input accordingly.

3. Ask Questions

Don't think that asking questions can make you look aloof. Sometimes the more questions you ask, the more smarter you appear. But be careful and make sure that your questions are worthy enough to be answered.

4. Quest To Learn

How about if someone says you 'Stop being over-smart' and abruptly you give a logical argument based on your knowledge? Yes, knowledge is the base. You should develop a thirst to learn more, because with more knowledge you can perform better.

5. Make A Mistake

You are not supposed to make an intentional mistake, instead you should keep trying new methods. If you are failing once in a while it means you are trying hard enough.

You can think, revise, improve, and can work better everyday. Keep your passion alive and overcome your fears to kick start with a new approach for your betterment.

I believe that these tips could maximize your outcome with little hard work. However just trust your efforts and keep your spirits high.
